La Italiana Café is glad to invite you to our next art exhibition. The artists, Nils Öhrvall (Sweden) and Marianne Lindahl (Finland) will exhibit their new collection 21st. February at 19:00.

Nils is a Swedish painter who has specialized in the watercolor technique. He started painting about 30 years ago, first in oil and acrylic, but finally chose water colour. At first he made several attempts without success but with a lot of perseverance, he came to realize that this was his medium. In his opinion, watercolor transmits a fantastic light and transparency to the landscape, the skies, the sea the cliffs and beaches, which are his favorite motives. Nils has stayed longer periods in Almuñécar during 10 years, painting both rural and urban landscapes in the transparent technique which is so typical for him. In Scandinavia his sources of inspiration are the fantastic light in the landscape of Skagen in Denmark and Oxelösund in Sweden.

Nils has studied painting for several Swedish master artists and has taught watercolor painting in art schools, organizing private watercolor courses in Sweden and Spain. He has participated in several private and collective exhibitions in Sweden, Denmark and Spain.

Marianne Lindahl is from Finland, but has been a resident in Citalsol, Almuñécar since the year 2000. She has studied painting at the Ateneum Art School in Helsinki and a private school in Paris, but finally chose a "safer" profession after having studied economics and business administration, pursuing a business career until her retirement. The painting was "off" during many years, but the paint brushes were never forgotten. Now, painting is a number one priority. Marianne prefers to paint in oil. Her main sources of inspiration are landscapes, people (especially children) animals and flowers. Typical for Marianne is her semi-naivistic, impressionist and coloristic style. She does not paint what she see,but what she has seen, and this often with a touch of fantasy. Marianne has participated in various exhibitions in Finland and Spain.
