“La vuelta a la Mariola” inicia en Bocairent su tercera edición
La iniciativa recorrerá también Banyeres de Mariola, Muro, Alfafara, Agres, Alcoy y Cocentaina
Con la llegada de la primavera, la asociación Serra Mariola pone en marcha la tercera edición de su programa de visitas guiadas “La vuelta a la Mariola” que recorrerá las siete poblaciones del parque natural. Así, Bocairent iniciará este sábado, 21 de marzo, las rutas con un itinerario para descubrir los puentes y acueductos que rodean su casco urbano mientras que a partir del 12 de abril será el turno, sucesivamente cada domingo o sábado según el caso, de Banyeres de Mariola, Muro, Alfafara, Agres, Alcoy y Cocentaina donde terminará la iniciativa el 17 de mayo.
Como en las dos ediciones anteriores en las que se agotaron todas las plazas disponibles, la inscripción es gratuita y puede formalizarse en las oficinas de turismo o los ayuntamientos de las siete localidades así como en la dirección electrónica info@serramariola.org.
El recorrido por Bocairent partirá el sábado a las 10.30 h desde la plaza del Ayuntamiento y cuenta con la colaboración de la empresa de servicios turísticos Lasaria que forma parte también de la asociación Serra Mariola. La primera parada será el puente del Santo Cristo con su arco gótico para acercarse posteriormente al de Tras la Villa, erigido en el siglo XVI, y considerado en su época como el más alto del Reino de Valencia. Después, los asistentes a “La vuelta a la Mariola” contemplarán los ejemplos más recientes como el puente del Riberet o el de San Blas, entre otros. En conjunto, la visita servirá para comprobar cómo los habitantes de Bocairent han ido creando diferentes infraestructuras a lo largo del tiempo para hacer frente a su compleja orografía y asegurar así el tránsito de personas, mercancías y agua.

With the arrival of spring, the Serra Mariola Association launches the third edition of its guided tours program –“Around the Mariola”– that will tour the set municipalities of the natural park. Thus, Bocairent will start the routes next Saturday, March 21st, with an itinerary to discover the bridges and aqueducts that surround its town centre. From April 12th, Banyeres de Mariola, Muro, Alfafara, Agres, Alcoi and Cocentaina –where the initiative will finish on May 17th– will be the start point each week on Sunday or Saturday. As the two previous editions, the registration is free and can be formalized in the tourist offices or the councils of the seven locations as well as by the e-mail address info@serramariola.org.
The tour around Bocairent will depart on Saturday at 10.30 h from the Town Hall Square and has the support of the tourist services company Lasaria that is also part of the Serra Mariola Association. The first stop will be the St. Christ Bridge with its gothic arch and the second will be the Behind the Village one, built in the sixteenth century and considered as the highest of the Kingdom of Valencia then. Subsequently, the “Around the Mariola” participants will behold the most recent examples as Riberet or St. Blai Bridges, among others. Overall, the visit will see how the Bocairent inhabitants have created different infrastructures over time to overtake its complex terrain and ensure the movement of people, merchandises and water.
