Sinopsis

Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) lleva toda su vida trabajando como cazatalentos en el mundo del béisbol. A pesar de sentirse ya algo mayor para esto, el amor por su trabajo hace que siga adelante aún con dificultades. El problema llega cuando los directivos del equipo de su último trabajo empiezan a cuestionarle y debe recurrir a su hija Mickey (Amy Adams), con la que apenas tiene relación. Ella le ayudará y, por primera vez, padre e hija aprenderán a conocerse.
